What made you choose a career in nursing?
I know it sounds redundant, but I wanted to help people. I always felt if I could just do something for someone, no matter how small it might be, it could make a difference in a patient's outcome. I also felt nursing would be an exciting and rewarding career and I haven't been disappointed.
What motivates you at the start of each day?
Knowing that I will encounter different people and situations motivates me at the start of each day. As I stated earlier, I enjoy a challenge and my current position offers both a challenge and diversity. I enjoy people and my job involves having good people skills. I am motivated to provide assistance to the providers when I can and maintain a positive relationship.
Attributes Success To:
I attribute my success in nursing to taking advantage of the various fields available and experiencing them. I have also gained knowledge in the fields of legal nurse consulting and forensic nursing to expand my scope of experience. I enjoy challenges and have accepted administrative positions to experience my leadership capabilities as well as provide me with the opportunity to be a role model for others.
