How do you try to make a difference in the lives of your patients?
Each and every day I strive to make my patients lives better- physically, mentally and emotionally. Becoming a physical therapist was one thing, but being able to connect with another human being and empathize with them and what it is they are going through is another thing. When I go home at night I think and replay my sessions with each one- how can I do better for them? How can I be that person that turns around their life for the better? I consider myself a “forever student” because I am always questioning and researching. No patient is created equal and no patient is textbook like they educate you in school. At the end of each day if I know I did everything possible to make sure that their session was at 100%, then I know I did my job. I will always go the extra mile for each patient no matter what it is. I do not consider my work, work. I love this profession and the network I have began to create with it.
