What made you choose a career in nursing?
I have been blessed with the ability to help people, to be able to make a difference in their lives. I enjoy being able to do that in this way, whether it be by holding their hand, helping improve their health, or being at their side and their families when they take their last breath. I believe I am on the road that God wants me to be on.
What motivates you at the start of each day?
Volunteers as a SANE nurse at the C/SARA House
Attributes Success To:
Her past experience as a Paramedic prompted her to consider working with patients in a Long-Term Care setting. She wanted to be able to follow through and see the long term effects of what happens after they bring them into the ER. It made her take a different approach with them, to think a little more on her actions when she was on the street and in the air. A Paramedic is a tough, tough job! You are required to think on your feet in very little time, and to think outside the box. Having this under her belt has helped her alot on the floor.
