    Description of Practice :

    I have worked in Respiratory since 2005. I have previously worked in small rural hospitals and Home care and I am currently serving in the diagnostics lab at The Medical Center of Aurora and together with my colleagues, I perform Adult Pulmonary Function testing including spirometry, lung volumes and diffusion capacity, Nitrogen wash out,exercise spirometry and pediatric pulmonary function tests, ABG's with home oxygen set-up as needed, MDI instruct with aero chamber/spacer, Sputum induction, peak flow instruct, pulse oximetry at rest, excercise and recovery, Methacholine challege testing, cardiac stress testing (nuclear and non-nuclear), stress echo's, resting EKG's, Signal Average EKG, Holter and event monitors, transtracheal oxygen catheter pre/post op teaching and I also help out the respiratory therapy department when they are in need of an extra hand for In-Patient Respiratory Care. I am currently attending HCA Leadership Academy with expected graduation in January 2015.

    I strive to educate my patients in the things they can do for themselves, to make life a little easier and to think outside the normal thoughts from society so they can accept their medical issues.

    Attributes Success To:

    Hard work and determination as well as knowing that I inspire people daily to be their best. My children have been great motivators as well, when the days are long or hard. My husband works in home oxygen so together we enjoy reading about new innovations in improving patient lives and increasing the success of treatment at home.
